Fittings & Alterations
When you have placed your order with us we will give you a delivery date, this is always a rough guide. Usually this date is 4 months before your wedding date if ordered in plenty of time. When your gown arrives with us, we check it and press it and then contact you to let you know that it's arrived. At that point, we'll book your first fitting with you. A comfortable time for your first fitting for all concerned is about 3 months before your wedding.
Most gowns will require some or other alteration but, of course, every case is different.
The number of fittings varies from bride to bride. If a gown is made-to-measure you may not need any alterations at all. If it has been made to measure and the bride has lost/gained weight then you may need up to 3 fittings for tweaks and alterations to be completed. More often, a second and, occasionally, a third appointment is necessary, especially if your gown is a 'standard' dress size.
Each time you come for a fitting, you must remember to bring the shoes and underwear you will be wearing on the wedding day. The fitting cannot be carried out without them as they will naturally alter the fit of the gown. If you intend buying shoes or underwear from us, this can be done on the day of the fitting.
